In this project, we installed the work platform nets in order to enable the subsequent trades to install the roof construction and the glass. After the work was successfully completed, we dismantled the nets.

We are also not put off by temperatures below zero. 
In winter 2007 we installed five pneumatic foil cushions made of PTFE, below the atrium of the trade fair complex in Cologne. The installation of the air supply was also part of our chilly task.

Our team installed work platform nets in the partially oval roof opening, in order to enable the historic Odeonsplatz to be covered with panes of glass.

Whether a stadium or a bus station shelter – we approach every contract with great care and attention. For the bus station shelter designed as a knight’s tent we installed two articulated pylons. A membrane was stretched from these highest points downwards to the wall panels and fixed to these.

In this area, our strength lies in finding creative solutions for work in locations difficult to access such as this bridge abutment. A platform was installed at the highest point of the bridge construction in order that the subsequent trades could also carry out the refurbishment of the steel cable anchorage while the bridge was in operation.

On the building site of the Allianz Arena the technology used for the work platform nets was successfully and reliably implemented. With the help of at times up to 125 assembly fitters, under the directorship of the Membranteam, 2.816 rhombic pneumatic cushions made of ETFE foil including, the entire air inlet technology, were installed on the stadium envelope. This 66.000 m² large membrane shell is the largest in the world. 
The movable suspended ceiling as well as the fine adjustment of the individual strips of membrane were also successfully executed by the Membranteam employees.

As we have a pool of assembly specialists with different skills, the FIFA 2006 was a welcome challenge for us. For two years, the DFB football globe was assembled and disassembled by the Membranteam in a total of 8 cities. In addition to the installation of 29 three-layered pneumatic foil cushions and the two-part steel ridge field, the scope of activity included the installation of the air conduction, the sealing of the construction, and the installation of the gutter heating.

This project involved the installation of darkened membranes on the gable ends of the barrel-vaulted building. We were able to complete the design of the individual sub-sections and the fixing of the membranes with the aid of work platforms in an extremely short period of time.

This project involved the renovation of the existing structure. In order to do this, the old membrane was removed, the steel sections retouched, to some extent also replaced, and a new PVC membrane was installed.

The professional Alpine technical safety and access methods used by our height workers meant we could achieve high-quality, fast and reliable results even in areas difficult to access. This was also the case in this project. Here, a suspended scaffold was used at a height of 25m and a PTFE membrane was installed above the suspended steel construction.

During the A-motion tour, fantastic results were achieved, not least thanks to our fast, flexible and disciplined method of working. In this popular project, the task required of the Membranteam was the complete assembly and dismantling of the covered event stage – a total of seventeen times – during the Mercedes Benz A-class presentation tour.

With our help, a membrane has set a precedent. This educational programme was realized in collaboration with students and teachers of the Hochschule am Bauhaus in Dessau. The pre-fabricated wooden construction was covered with PVC foil in order to create a temporary exhibition space.

The Membranteam was consulted about the task of developing the wooden umbrellas into a long-term waterproof construction. In order to assemble the total of the 16,000 m² PTFE-ETFE membranes on the ten (40 m x 40 m) large wooden umbrellas, the membranes were cut to fit the geometry of the umbrellas and fixed in place by our skilled team.

The extent and special focus of our special assembly work is individually tailored to meet the respective construction projects. In this project, Membranteam installed a PVC membrane during the night over the 2,000 m² public area and partly over the tracks, despite the continuation of the suburban railway operations.

Our range of services also includes measuring, repair and maintenance work. The former connection between the roof and façade on the Olympiahalle in Munich was removed. We replaced it with a PVC-PES membrane tube, in line with the building geometry. The 580m long hose consists of several self-contained units, which we joined together using an air tube.

Taking into account the special characteristics of the ground, the shading systems of the Airbus assembly hall in Hamburg were installed by us with great care.

Because of the Membranteam’s many years of experience, the team was commissioned to supervise the installation of the roof construction of the national stadium in Nigeria.

The know-how in terms of technology, practical experience and expertise has resulted in a fully-developed assembly system that can be used even in difficult conditions. This unusually shaped PVC-PES membrane was anchored between the two building sections in the flat roof, fixed to the individual boundary points and stretched evenly. The lowest point of the funnel shape was stabilized with a ring and anchored with steel cables attached to the ground of the atrium.

For the roof covering of a grandstand, in cooperation with the Inauen & Schätti, the steel construction was erected and covered with a PTFE membrane section for section.

We specialize in scaffold-free work in exposed locations such as these towers. Here, the paintwork was carried out on three 100m high chimneys belonging to the thermal waste processing plant in Nuremburg, solely with the aid of cable pull technology.

Collaborating with the planning and implementation of the ideas of our clients is a welcome challenge in each project. First of all, PVC foil was stretched over a steel ring mounted on four supports. Finally, the self-contained envelope was shaped into a dome using blowers.

Our many years of experience make projects like these a routine task. When the PTFE membrane was assembled on the elongated steel construction, the foil was attached first of all, then fixed to the inside and finally stretched on the outside and fixed to it permanently with the help of clamping devices.

The installation of foil, glass, or in this case aluminium is our speciality. Triangular sheets of aluminium were laid across the supporting structure (also made of aluminium) and fixed with clamping profiles. Subsequently, the edges of the completely installed dome were lifted and placed on the tank.

This very particular building task could also be realised without effort thanks to our experience. The courtyard, which was set between six flat-roofed buildings, was covered with a membrane that was suspended from two 18m high, articulated main pylons in the centre of the square. In order to do this, first of all, all the dangerous rough edges on the buildings were covered in order to protect the membrane. The edge anchoring devices were installed between the buildings and attached to them.

The Membranteam is also a sought-after partner for professional special installation outside of Germany. In Ankara, between one-storey buildings, 5 PTFE-membranes were stretched across a steel construction. Different designs of the sail required that we design different types of membrane.

For this contract, a total of 1000 m² protective nets were hired from our company and were installed together with the respective edge fall safety device on the drying tower in Leutkirch by professional industrial climbers.

We do not only install on steel constructions but also on wooden ones. With the help of bridges and wooden platforms that are screwed between the primary wooden support structure, we installed the 3-layered ETFE-cushions including the pneumatic system.

Installation work in specific areas with minimal effort at highest possible speed is the task for our work platform nets. In order to facilitate the work of the subsequent trades at this height, as assembly specialists we installed these between the sections of the steel construction and in addition mounted an edge fall safety device.

Industrial climbers also installed work platform nets in this spectacular building, for the trades that subsequently worked on it. Beneath the 6th storey of the media bridge, at a height of 26m, the work platform nets were installed between the two building towers, as well as on the protruding arms of the building over a length of 90m, in order that the floor could be constructed.

Due to our work platform nets installed in advance, we were able to safely complete the installation of the glass roof.

The entrance area of the children’s clinic was covered with a transparent roof made of ETFE. A total of three sections were fitted and installed into a frame construction.

We are meanwhile internationally renowned for our membrane installation work. For this project, we were contracted for the assembly management of the work platform nets in Istanbul, and subsequently for the installation of the ETFE-cushions.

In the DZ Bank building, our industrial climbers installed a 500 m² work platform net, in order to make it possible for the subsequent trade to replace the panes of glass at the roof edge. As we had to work above a sculpture in the building atrium, we only climbed, working without the aid of work platforms.

With only the aid of cable winch technology and in very challenging conditions we hung a 975 m² PTFE membrane up to a height of 174 m inside a transmitter tower, in two phases. In addition, an air guiding sail made of PTFE-glass was installed.

As specialists for installation in locations that are difficult to access, we installed the 236 roof sections of the Bay Arena in just eight weeks. 
The steel supporting structure was pre-assembled on the ground by our specialist staff and then covered with Makrolon, in collaboration with our client. Following this, the sections were installed into the rope construction in the roof by our professional industrial climbers. In addition to this main assembly work, we were also responsible for the installation of the drainage channels as well as the gutter heating.

As a medium-sized company, geared towards innovation, we regularly successfully use the work platform net quattro 45/6, which we helped develop. In this project too, we installed a work platform and in addition an edge fall protection system, in order to facilitate the work of the subsequent trades.

As specialists for installation work in places difficult to access, our experienced installers inspected the glass façade and the roof cladding and repaired damages in the areas where they discovered undesired changes.

In order to spread the load evenly across the rope supporting structure, initially all the construction material was placed in storage nets in the inner ring of the roof. Following this, the 112 panels were installed successively using the five work platform nets, which were constantly moved in the installation direction. Subsequently, 3.3 km of joints were closed using hot air sealing.

We offer specialized services. In this case we were commissioned with the reinstallation of a movable dome light on the roof of a villa. The existing frame construction was reworked and replaced, the ETFE-cushion was readjusted and the 5 x 5m dome light was installed again.

In order to refurbish the glass roof of an atrium in an administration building, industrial climbers from the Membranteam installed a work platform net as a temporary assembly level. As it was only possible to access the building through doors sized 2,20 m by 1,40 m, we worked with the very slender special machine, "Spider", which is able to pass through any standard doorway. In order to install the working platform nets, a very innovative assembly concept was needed, as there were none of the “usual” anchor opportunities.

In order to create secure installation conditions for the other trades, our work platform nets were installed on the Air Rail Center building and were disassembled, moved on the horizontal and then reinstalled, depending on the building phase.

In order to collect tiles that were becoming detached from the high-rise building façade, industrial climbers from the Membranteam installed permanent protective and collective nets on all four sides of the building for all 10 storeys.

In this project, the focus was less on the size and more on the optically striking supporting structure. In order to carry out the complete installation, we first set up a supporting construction made of steel, in the design of an inverted umbrella, on the concrete base, and then stretched the PTFE-membrane over it.

For this contract, our scope of services included the installation of the inner membrane, the installation of work platform nets for other trades, as well as the installation of the steel arches!
The world largest retractable inner membrane, 10.000 m2 in size, was suspended as one piece and thanks to a meticulously though-out folding plan, it could be installed efficiently without problems. In addition, we installed work platform nets specially tailored to fit the steel arch previously installed by us.

Despite extremely hot temperatures, the membrane team could smoothly and on schedule, perform the installation of the specially for the steel arches assembled working platform nets, so on this the customer with their workers were able to safely install the outer membrane of the arches.

Als be­son­de­re Her­aus­for­de­rung wurde ab­schlie­ßend die welt­weit grö­ß­te ver­fahr­ba­re Mem­bra­ne am Stück - mit etwa 10.000 m² Flä­che - ein­ge­baut.

Once the highest section the “glass hat” had been installed and the roof membrane was attached, the complete roof construction was hooked in at a height of 13m and positioned above a steel tripod support. Following this, the roof of the unusual classroom, with a diameter of 20m, could be stretched in its final shape by tensioning the eight suspension ropes.
Now the approx. 300 pupils can enjoy their open-air lessons, well-protected and sheltered from the weather!

Our special working platform “Spider” was in operation in the new ADAC building in Munich. Using “Spider”, an extremely compact, flexible and manoeuvrable special working platform, the Membranteam installed sunscreen membranes and acoustic screens on the ceiling of the glass foyer in the new ADAC building.

In order to realize the membrane roof extension of the Mercedes Benz Arena, the Membran team installed the entire new rope construction, including 40 air connectors, 64 membrane arcs and 40 membrane roof sections. The 30-ton inner rope ring with the 40 radial rope axes was lifted and bolted in by our 25 employees using pure muscular strength in a twelve-hour lifting process.
We also worked for other clients, for example Taiyo Europe GmbH, replacing existing membranes, and for the EnBW AG, installing the light platforms and video walls, as well as carrying out maintenance work on the existing roof for the stadium Neckar­Park GmbH.

In coordination with the assembly cycle of the other trades, our professionally trained industrial climbers installed work platform nets, specially designed for this purpose by the Membranteam, in the silos at heights of up to 60m, moving these into a vertical position according to the building phase.

Even a snow-covered work platform net did not prevent our professionals from installing the basis profile and the pneumatic foil cushions, including the air supply.

36 Mo­du­le de­fi­nie­ren die Au­ßen­haut, diese be­ste­hen je aus 5 ver­schie­de­nen Pa­nels. Die Pa­nels sind aus ge­schlos­se­ner grau­er PVC-Fo­lie, teil­wei­se aus grau-schwar­zen Me­sh-Ge­we­be und geben mit ihrem Aus­se­hen dem Ge­bäu­de sei­nen Namen. Das Mem­bran­team star­te­te mit einem 20 Mann star­ken Team und er­höh­te die „Schlag­zahl“ auf 3 Teams mit bis zu 55 Mann. Es wur­den 2 Clo­sure­f­laps rund um die Halle ver­schwei­ßt und mit Alu­mi­ni­um­ver­bund­ble­chen ver­klebt. Zur Mem­bran­mon­ta­ge waren wir mit 2 Krä­nen und 12 Stei­gern vor Ort. Wei­te­re Auf­ga­ben fand das Mem­bran­team bei der Elek­tro­in­stal­la­ti­on, der Dach­ent­wäs­se­rung, im Tro­cken­bau, beim Brand­schutz, bei der Mon­ta­ge der Pa­nel­fas­sa­de und im Stahl­bau!

Im zwei­ten Bau­ab­schnitt wur­den als zwei­te Schutz­maß­nah­me die go­ti­schen Dril­lings­maß­werk­fens­ter und Was­ser­spei­er des Müns­ter­turms mit einem fein­ma­schi­gen Netz von un­se­ren In­dus­trie­klet­te­rern ein­ge­netzt. Dabei er­for­der­te die his­to­ri­sche denk­mal­ge­schütz­te Bau­sub­stanz be­son­ders viel Fin­ger­spit­zen­ge­fühl der am Seil hän­gen­den Hö­hen­spe­zia­lis­ten. Sie ar­bei­te­ten in 80 m Höhe zwi­schen aus­kra­gen­den En­gels­fi­gu­ren und fein­glied­ri­gen Stre­be­pfei­lern, zudem kämpf­ten sie mit star­kem Nebel und kal­ten No­vem­ber­win­den.

Mit ei­ge­nem Equip­ment auf Eu­ro­pas grö­ß­ter Flug­ha­fen­bau­stel­le: Rad- und Tief­la­der, Te­le­sko­phe­be­kran, Ar­beits­platt­form­hän­ger, UNIMOG und Mon­ta­ge­zelt. Bis zu 20 Mon­teu­re wur­den von un­se­rer Pro­jekt- und Mon­ta­ge­lei­tung teil­wei­se im Schicht­be­trieb an bis zu 6 Tagen ko­or­di­niert. Es wur­den 1128 Rah­men aus Alu-Pro­fi­len und Stahl­ein­zel­tei­len vor­mon­tiert und mit einer Me­sh­mem­bra­ne be­spannt und an den Fas­sa­den be­fes­tigt. Die in­no­va­ti­ven Mon­ta­ge- und Trans­port­bö­cke wur­den von uns extra dafür ent­wi­ckelt und her­ge­stellt. Zudem mon­tier­ten wir je­weils 1700 m At­ti­ka- und Tropf­ble­che und Me­tall­rin­nen­ab­de­ckun­gen.

Um den Frei­bur­ger Müns­ter­turm zu er­hal­ten, müs­sen Stei­ne kom­plett er­setzt, an­de­re mit­tels einer Klam­mer oder einer Ban­da­ge ge­stärkt wer­den. In Zu­sam­men­ar­beit mit der BG wurde das Mem­bran­team vom Frei­bur­ger Müns­ter­bau­ber­ein e.V. als ers­tes be­auf­tragt, diese be­son­de­re Bau­stel­le auf einer Ge­rüst­platt­form in 100 m Höhe mit einem Ar­beits­platt­form­schutz­netz ab­zu­si­chern, dass den Markt­be­su­chern unten auf dem Müns­ter­platz wei­ter­hin einen ge­fahr­lo­sen Ein­kauf ge­währ­leis­tet!

Ge­schul­te Spe­zia­lis­ten der Ar­beits­platt­form­netz GmbH in­stal­lier­ten in einer be­ein­dru­cken­den Höhe von 120 m zwi­schen den zwei Towern des neuen Pres­ti­ge­baus der EZB ein fest ver­bun­de­nes Netz­sys­tem. Mit dem Au­ßen­auf­zug ge­lang­ten die Fach­ar­bei­ter in die 38 Etage, um sich dann unter den Ver­bin­dungs­steg zu han­geln und in­stal­lier­ten in kur­zen Ab­stän­den die Be­fes­ti­gun­gen in den Be­ton­wan­gen. Dann konn­te das vor­be­rei­te­te Ar­beits­platt­form­netz und das Fein­netz mit dem Hoch­bau­kran zu dem 7 Mann star­ken Team nach oben ge­lif­tet wer­den. Mit Hilfe eines Stahl­seil­net­zes wur­den Be­fes­ti­gungs­mög­lich­kei­ten ge­schaf­fen, wo die Ge­bäu­de­kon­struk­ti­on keine bie­ten konn­te.

Im Rah­men der Olym­pi­schen Win­ter­spie­le 2014 in Sochi/Russ­land, hatte Samsung einen re­prä­sen­ta­ti­ven Pa­vil­lon auf dem Olym­pia­ge­län­de er­stellt. Nach einer gut durch­dach­ten Pla­nung und einer ge­lun­ge­nen Mem­bran­pro­duk­ti­on, konn­ten wir mit einem per­fekt "zu­sam­men­ge­schwei­ß­ten" Team von 7 Mit­ar­bei­tern, in re­kord­ver­däch­ti­ger Zeit von 9 Mon­ta­ge­ta­gen in Sochi, das Ge­werk zur bes­ten Zu­frie­den­heit un­se­res schwei­zer Auf­trag­ge­bers fer­tig­stel­len.

Um eine ge­fahr­lo­se und si­che­re Mon­ta­ge der Dach­ver­gla­sun­gen in der Ga­le­rie des neuen Shop­ping Cen­ters in So­lin­gen zu er­mög­li­chen, wurde von uns ein 1000 m² gro­ßes Ar­beits­platt­form­netz in­klu­si­ve Ma­te­ri­al­fang­netz in­stal­liert. Eine be­son­de­re Her­aus­for­de­rung war die An­bin­dung der Ar­beits­platt­form an den um­lau­fen­den Be­ton­kern des Neu­baus aus dem Seil her­aus, ohne zu­sätz­li­che Un­ter­stüt­zung durch Hub­stei­ger und in­ner­halb eines sehr engen Zeit­fens­ter.

Zu­ge­ge­ben; es war schon ein etwas aus­ser­ge­wöhn­li­cher Wunsch un­se­res Kun­den, eine für Mes­se­be­su­cher be­geh­ba­re Netz­flä­che über den aus­ge­stell­ten Fahr­zeu­gen zu er­schaf­fen. Dem Wunsch un­se­res Auf­trag­ge­bers fol­gend, kon­fek­tio­nier­ten wir ein mo­di­fi­zier­tes und farb­lich ab­ge­stimm­tes Platt­form­netz. Über die­ses so­ge­nann­te "Re­lax­netz", konn­ten die Mes­se­be­su­cher von oben die Fahr­zeu­ge im Erd­ge­schoss ent­spannt "be­ge­hen".

Das Mem­bran­team hat von Ende Ok­to­ber 2013 bis Mai 2014 für die se-aus­tria GmbH & Co. KG bei der der­zeit grö­ß­ten In­fra­struk­tur-Bau­stel­le Eu­ro­pas, der Cross­rail Sta­ti­on in Lon­don, das ET­FE-Kis­sen-Dach mon­tiert. Un­se­re Leis­tung um­fass­te unter an­de­rem die Mon­ta­ge von 780 Fo­li­en­kis­sen in­klu­si­ve der Luft­zu­lei­tung und Ge­blä­se­sta­tio­nen über eine Ge­samt­flä­che von rund 6000 m² des neuen Bahn­ho­fes Ca­na­ry Wharf. Zu un­se­ren jähr­li­chen Auf­ga­ben bei die­sem höchst in­ter­es­san­ten Bau­werk, zäh­len auch die War­tungs- und Rei­ni­gungs­ar­bei­ten.

Um die Belagsmontage an der Stabbogenbrücke über den Elbkanal sicher und termingerecht zu gestalten, wurde von uns über die gesamte Länge der Brücke ein individuelles Arbeitsplattformnetz sowie eine eigens hierfür entwickelte Randabsturzsicherung installiert. Nach dem Verschub der Brücke an ihre Endposition und Abschluss aller Montagearbeiten, wurde die Arbeitsfläche mittels Seilzugangstechnik zurückgebaut.

Zur Si­che­rung der al­ters­schwa­chen De­cken­ver­klei­dung, um die Sport­hal­le für ihre rest­li­che Nut­zungs­dau­er ge­fahr­los und si­cher zu be­nüt­zen, wur­den von uns ins­ge­samt 792 m² weiße Ar­beits­platt­form­net­ze ein­ge­baut. Eine kos­ten­güns­ti­ge Al­ter­na­ti­ve zur teu­ren Sa­nie­rung.
